About Me

Me

Serena Chan

I am a first generation, third year student at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Economics with a minor in Data Science. I have a passion for marketing, data analytics, graphic design, UI/UX design, and operations. I was raised in San Francisco, currently based in Berkeley, and aspire to live in New York City.

My personal values place people at the center of my work which is why I focus on creating eye-catching content to meet a large target audience. Driven by my imagination and ambition, I constantly set new goals for myself and through my curiousity, I am able to discover what interests me. I enjoy meeting new people and maintaining meaningful relationships as each person teaches me something new and exciting.

I embrace diversity and change, allowing me to thrive in a fast-paced environment that constantly adapts with the development of new technology. My versatility and determination help me navigate difficult challenges that allow me to become a stronger individual, positively influencing and transforming any project or task that I partake in. With my adventurous spirit and interest in business and technology, I hope to make impact wherever I go. I welcome opportunities to apply my more creative skills in business, such as developing strategies and materials while relating it to big data.

My hobbies include: attending Broadway Musicals and symphonies, kayaking, bouldering, graphic and web design, and going on food crawls around the Bay Area.

Currently open to summer oppportunities so feel free to connect with me at serenacha@berkeley.edu.

Projects

I worked with Skillabl, a career-service platform, from around February to May of 2018 as part of UMA’s (Undergraduate Marketing Association) Design Team. Our team consisted of around 10 individuals. Skillabl was a start-up with no established brand identity, so our team had a large hand in helping to solidify Skillabl’s brand identity by creating its logo, website mock ups, and a brand book.

Skillabl aims to work with top employers to help college students and recent graduates acquire valuable skills needed in the workforce, while democratizing opportunities and providing access for all. They are an online community where college students work on meaningful challenges, discover impactful employers, and seek and provide mentorship.
